In periods when geopolitical competition intersects with industrial transformation, the strategic significance of critical minerals increases markedly. Materials once regarded as niche industrial inputs can become central to defence systems, advanced manufacturing, and energy technologies. As supply chains fragment and governments prioritise resource security, producers capable of delivering stable supply outside dominant jurisdictions may assume heightened strategic value.

With applications spanning aerospace alloys, semiconductor equipment, industrial tooling and armour-piercing systems, the metal occupies a critical role in both civilian and military supply chains. Yet global production remains highly concentrated geographically, creating structural vulnerabilities for downstream industries.
